How to Measure & Order

  1. Please send me a picture of the area of your boat that you want lettered.
  2. Include height and width measurements in your email.
  3. Tell me the colors you want to use for the lettering including outline and/or drop shadow.
  4. Give me the exact name of the font you want. If uncertain of the font, look in our Boat Lettering Gallery and tell me the name(s) of boats that have lettering you like.
  5. Tell me YOUR Boat Name.

Once we have received and reviewed your request, I will send you a proof of your lettering with a price quote. We can get started with a 50% deposit.

Boat Names

Boat Names do not come as a set. Please indicate if you want to order one (for your stern) or two (for your boat sides). Boat letters can be any size that you want to fit your boat.


If you are unsure what size Boat Lettering you need for your boat you can use this as a guideline:


  • 10’ to 20’ Boat…2” to 5” Letters
  • 21’ to 30’ Boat…4” to 10” Letters
  • 31’ to 40’ Boat…9” to 13” Letters


This is only a guide. Remember the bigger your letters the easier they will be seen on the water. Viewing distances on the water are greater than other places. Shorter Boat Names will usually need taller letters than Longer Boat Names.


Hailing Port Names

  • Sold Individually: Hailing port names go on the stern of your boat, so you’ll only need one. These can include just the port name or the port name with the state abbreviation.
  • Sizes: Available in any size, with 2” lettering typically required by most states. Documented vessels have specific regulations, so be sure to verify requirements before ordering.
  • Color Options:
    • Single color
    • Two colors (a base color with either an outline or a drop shadow)
    • Three colors (a base color with both an outline and a drop shadow)


Boat Registration Letters

  • Sold by the Pair: Each set includes two decals—one for each side of your boat. Pricing is for the pair.
  • Sizes: Available in any size, typically 2”, 3”, or 4” tall. Most states require 3” lettering, but please check your state’s regulations to ensure compliance. For custom sizes, contact us for a quote.
  • Color Options:
    • Single color
    • Two colors (a base color with either an outline or a drop shadow)
    • Three colors (a base color with both an outline and a drop shadow)
